welcomes youSigns that say, “The Episcopal Church Welcomes You,” grace many churches and streets across our land. At St. Mark’s we endeavor to live up to that promise. In our liturgies we often pray for “all sorts and conditions of men, women, and children,” because in those historic words from our Book of Common Prayer are to be found what are meant to be the scope of our welcome, our fellowship, our prayers, and our caring community.

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church has a reasonably diverse congregation. Our members range in age from infancy to a significant cluster of ninety year olds. We have members who are “recovering” from other religious backgrounds, GLBT folks who have found comfortable inclusion, and divorced and remarried people who have found a new sacramental home. Our members have diverse careers and life situations. Many members live in Mt. Kisco, but slightly more than half come from a variety of other communities – mostly in Northern Westchester County. Among the nations and continents represented in our congregation are: Africa, Australia, Canada, India, Iraq, Jamaica, Japan, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, the Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.  diversity2

Whether you are an Episcopalian, come from an Anglican family, are a member of another Denomination or Faith Tradition, are someone who identifies as “spiritual, but not religious,” are someone who currently identifies with “no religion,” are someone looking for a place to bring up a family, or are someone who simply loves church music, we want you to feel welcome at St. Mark’s. We firmly believe that God wants us to share God’s unconditional love with all who enter our doors, with no strings attached, and with no preconceived ideas about what people should or do believe.
